Animal Rescue League of Western Pennsylvania
Did you know that very few animal shelters in Western Pennsylvania accept all domestic animals, regardless of age, health or temperament? We have an "open door" policy, so every animal finds shelter here, every day. For generations, the community has relied on us as a resource for adoption, foster homes, veterinary care, behavioral training and animal welfare advocacy. We consider the unique needs of all the animals in our care and work compassionately to prepare every safe, appropriately socialized pet for a wonderful new life.

The Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS) is a no-kill shelter, funded solely by private contributions. Our shelter has taken in over 4,000 animals and has investigated an average of 800 abuse complaints per year.
